If you are missing many teeth or find daily tasks like eating, speaking, or smiling difficult, you may be a candidate for full-arch restoration. This remarkable procedure involves extracting any remaining teeth in a dental arch and using 4 dental implant posts to secure a new, permanent denture. This procedure can replace one or both rows of teeth and leave you with a brand new, fully functioning smile.
Oral surgeons are specially trained in the accurate placement of dental implants, making them highly qualified to restore patients’ smiles. Many patients refer to this procedure as “Teeth-in-a-Day” because you can leave our office with a brand full mouth of teeth the same day that you walk in!
What is a Dental Implant?
A dental implant is a safe, effective dental device that replaces a tooth with an artificial one. A dental implant consists of a titanium metal post, a connecting abutment, and a custom-made crown that is designed to match the shape and color of your other teeth. Our practice uses implants made from Nobel Biocare®, a leading manufacturer in dental implants with years of proven clinical success with the All-on-4® treatment concept procedure. You can read more about the long-term success of these advanced dental implants on Nobel’s website.
On-site Dental Lab
Our practice established its own dental lab, fully equipped with imaging and 3D printing technology. By keeping operations in-house, we’re able to reduce the number of appointments needed to achieve a new set of teeth. Our lab can fabricate an arch of teeth in 20 minutes and we are one of 30 labs nationwide that utilizes the PIC® scanner for advanced impressions. This technology eliminates three appointments that would otherwise be necessary for a full-arch restoration procedure, saving patients time and money.
Benefit Your Smile and Oral Health With Full-Arch Restoration
If a part of your smile is missing, you may feel as though a piece of your identity is missing as well. A full-arch restoration procedure can benefit your oral health by strengthening your jaw bone as well as restore your self-confidence. Many patients choose this procedure over traditional dentures because they find removable dentures to be cumbersome, uncomfortable, and embarrassing. Other benefits of the “Teeth-in-a-Day” procedure include:
- Shorter healing time
- Less post-operative discomfort and swelling
- Secure, natural-looking arches of teeth that can last a lifetime with proper care
- Dental implants improve the structural integrity of your jaw by stimulating jaw bone and preventing atrophy
- As few as 4 dental implant posts can be used to support the new arch of permanent teeth
- No need for special rinses or cleaning solutions like removable dentures; simply brush and floss like natural teeth!
The Full-Arch Restoration Procedure
When you visit our office in West Michigan to replace one or both arches of teeth, Drs. Jesin or Lytle will work with your restorative dentist to create a custom mold for your smile. We’ll create images after examining your mouth, teeth, and jaw structure using advanced 3D scanning technology.
On the day of your surgery, you will likely undergo general anesthesia, which will allow you to sleep comfortably for the duration of your procedure. Drs. Jesin or Lytle will extract any remaining teeth in the dental arch. Then, he will place the necessary implant posts and secure your new arch of permanent dentures.
Once your surgery is complete, You will rest until the anesthesia wears off and you are ready to be driven home by your pre-arranged designated driver. Our office also provides our patients with detailed pre and post-operative instructions to guide you through a smooth and successful recovery.
You can expect to return to your normal routine within a few days. With your new set of teeth, you can enjoy all of your favorite foods, smile, and laugh with confidence!
